I received my Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Truman University in 1991 and moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to attend the University of Arkansas, School of Law. I was immediately hired as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Washington County. There, I prosecuted many cases including sex crimes, child abuse, arson, murders and serious drug offenses. I also worked in Madison and Carroll Counties as a deputy prosecutor.
In 2001, I relocated to Dallas, Texas where I had the pleasure of working for firms representing the Dallas Cowboys and Exxon Mobile. Between 2003 through 2007, I was a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the Department of Justice, focusing on multi-state and multi-national drug trafficking organizations. I returned to God's Country – Northwest Arkansas – where I had always planned to raise my son.

The relationships with the U.S. Attorney's Offices, law enforcement and related agencies have been paramount to my criminal defense practice. To my knowledge, I am the only criminal defense attorney in the four counties to have this background in federal court.

My greatest asset is my unwavering commitment to my clients. I truly care about my clients and my criminal defense practice flourishes with referrals.
I have tried over 50 cases to juries resulting in many defense verdicts and I have authored and/or argued more than 30 appeals to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Through the Arkansas Supreme Court, I successfully appealed a life sentence of an alleged gang affiliate.

I've also taught at several universities including Drury University, Missouri State University and Ozark Technical College.

My resume of certifications and training (both as a participant & lecturer) include arson investigations, drug cases, domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse and other courses to enhance my defense of clients. I have unlimited access to private polygraph examiners, IT specialists and state and national defense bars.

Outside of my defense practice, I was honored to work on "Last Shot with Judge Gunn" and actually received a daytime Emmy. Drug courts are the hallmark of those who truly want to be rehabilitated and start with a clean slate (no record) upon completion of the program. I am a huge proponent of drug court, veteran's court and I'm working with great organizations to get a mental health facility in NWA. These are my commitments to my clients and the community.

Personally, I live in Rogers with the love of my life, my son, who attends Bentonville schools. My extended Arkansas family is Matthews, Campbell, Rhoads, McClure and Thompson, P.A. and my clients.
